Muscle loss
Muscle Loss in men is usually the result of declining testosterone levels. Because testosteroneis the hormone responsible for building and maintaining a man’s muscle, as testosterone levels decline with age, men often find they have difficulty maintaining muscle tone and muscle mass. The clinical name for muscle loss is age-associated sarcopenia, also known as muscle wasting. If you find that you are losing muscle mass or muscle tone, or find it difficult to maintain and build your muscle, you may be experiencing male menopause, a natural decline in hormones experienced by all men as they age.

Will Male Muscle Loss Affect me?
In most cases, the extent to which sarcopenia (muscle loss) affects men is directly related to a man’s Testosterone Levels, his physical activity and the amount of exercise he gets. As your testosterone levels decrease with age, muscle tone and muscle mass will also decrease, and the creation of new muscle mass will be difficult if not impossible. If you are a man over 40 years old, then you will likely be affected by muscle loss in men as your testosterone levels decline.
How is Muscle Loss in Men Reversed?
Restore Testosterone to Optimal Levels. Because testosterone in men plays a key role in converting protein to muscle, restoring testosterone to its optimal levels is the first step to muscle loss recovery. With less than adequate testosterone, protein synthesis is severely compromised and muscle maintenance and muscle building will be almost impossible. Restoring testosterone to optimal levels will restore Muscle loss in men.
Be Active and Exercise. The second component to maintaining or building muscle is being active and exercising – “use it or lose it”. Inadequate exercise and low t make building muscle impossible. Even with exercise, the ability to either maintain muscle mass or build additional muscle without healthy levels of testosterone is at best a challenge. One of the most common complaints we hear from prospective clients is, “I’m exercising, but I’m having difficulty maintaining muscle tone.” We can fix that for you.
Eat Healthy. Poor nutrition is a key factor in male muscle loss. Muscles need protein to grow and if your diet is high in sugar and low in protein, your muscles will not have the fuel they need to regenerate resulting in male muscle loss.
